call for papers Call for Abstracts & Papers is now CLOSEDAt CAUTHE 2009 delegates will See Change as we adopt a new format for oral and visual presentations of extended abstracts and full papers that will be more interactive, personal and educational. All submissions will be peer reviewed and those accepted will be invited to give either a visual presentation, standard oral presentation or participate in a panel session. Visual presentations will be on display throughout the conference venue and presenters will be allocated specific times to present during the conference. Standard oral presentations will be an option in concurrent sessions, but in order to make the conference more interactive, authors will be encouraged to discuss their work in a panel format, rather than use powerpoint presentations, during concurrent panel sessions.
NOTE TO AUTHORS
SUBJECTS FOR DISCUSSION
PRESENTATION FORMATS PANEL SESSIONS will take the form of a roundtable interview of panellists, facilitated by a Panel Chair with relevant expertise on the panel theme and familiarity with the panellists conference submissions. Panellists will be given opportunity to respond to specific questions from the Panel Chair as well as questions from the floor, such as: - How does their work relate to the Panel theme? - What contribution does it make to the relevant literature or methodology? - What new insights emerge from their work? - What are the implications for University tourism and hospitality education? ORAL PRESENTATIONS will have 20 minute timeslots, plus 10 minutes for discussion. Each paper should support one of the sub-themes outlined overleaf. VISUAL PRESENTATIONS will be displayed on single-sided display panels (1.8m high x 1.2m wide). Accompanying presentations will be short, informal synopses of approximately 10 minutes. Time will also be allowed for informal discussions around the displays. Accepted papers will be published in the Conference Book of Proceedings with an ISBN and distributed to delegates at the conference.
