Zoe's current areas of research include rehabilitation post-replantation and diagnosis and treatment of ulnar sided wrist pain. She has taught both nationally and internationally on many subjects such as the wrist, tendon transfers, complex trauma reconstruction and clinical reasoning within hand therapy. This includes presentations at both EFSHT and IFSHT conferences; and annual presentations in varying formats (workshops, keynote lectures and discussion panels) at the BAHT conference over the last 5 years.
Since 2003 Zoe has also been
involved in the education of surgeons and therapists at Korle-bu Teaching
Hospital (Ghana, West Africa). Between 2003-2009 she was a director of
BAHT including Chair of the association for the last three years.

Blennerhassett Jaslyn Cullen is an Occupational Therapist graduating in 1998 from Curtin University, WA. She specialized in Hand and Upper Limb Rehabilitation with experience in public and private sectors in WA and the NHS in the UK. Jaslyn now works as Manager of the Hand and Upper Limb Centre at St John of God Hospital, Perth. Terri Dival graduated from the Western Australian Institute of Technology as an occupational therapist in 1982. She obtained her Master of Science (Occupational Therapy, major in Hand and Upper Limb Management) in 2002, with a thesis on assessment of the upper limb in acquired neurological disorders. Terri has lectured at Curtin University and has contributed chapters to Judith Wilton’s text 'Hand Splinting, Principles of Design and Fabrication'. Terri has had her own private practice since 1998, providing home based neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation for catastrophically injured clients, upper limb rehabilitation, occupational therapy and/ or case management for Insurance Commission of WA, Transport Accident Commission of Victoria and private trustee clients, and medico-legal assessment of status and assessment of needs for catastrophically injured clients. Stephen Edmondston is an Associate Professor of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Curtin University, WA. He also works in private practice at Shenton Park Physiotherapy Clinic. He has a PhD in spinal anatomy and biomechanics. Stewart Flemming is a plastic surgeon with a major interest in hand surgery. He works at Fremantle Hospital and participates in the WA state emergency on call roster for plastic surgery. Stewart trained in the UK and worked as a fellow with Dr Harold Kleinert and colleagues at Louisville Hand Surgery Center in Kentucky. Prior to working in WA he worked in the St Andrew's Regional Plastic Surgery Centre, one of the UKs largest centres dealing with between 2,500 - 3,000 hand trauma cases a year. Simon Garbellini graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 1994 from Curtin University. He gained a Masters of Health Services Management from the School of Public Health at Curtin University in 2003. He has worked in a variety of settings both in Western Australia and the United States. He has worked in the area of disability for the last 10 years including Second Skin Neurological Splinting Clinics, The Centre for Cerebral Palsy and within the Cerebral Palsy Mobility Service at Princess Margaret Hospital. Currently Simon continues his work as a Senior Occupational Therapist at PMH in the Cerebral Palsy Mobility Service and within the Hand and Upper Limb clinic at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He has a keen interest in the management of neurological dysfunction of the upper limb. Barbara Hall is an Occupational Therapist, graduating in1989 from Curtin University, WA. She is a Certified Hand Therapist (1997) and has a Masters of Health Science (1998) from the University of Indianapolis. She is a Past President of the AHTA. Barbara has worked in the UK, USA and Australia, as a clinician, teacher and researcher. She is currently working in rural WA at St John of God, Bunbury and Busselton and is collaborating on a research project. Toby Hall is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. He graduated in the UK in 1985 and completed a postgraduate diploma in manipulative therapy at Curtin University in 1990 and an MSc by thesis in 1996. He is currently finalizing his PhD. Toby is a Senior Teaching Fellow at both Curtin University and the University of Western Australia. He is also an accredited Mulligan Concept teacher. Toby has published several book chapters and more than 25 journal articles. He is on the international advisory panel of the Manual Therapy Journal and is an associate editor for the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy. Alex O’Beirne trained in orthopaedic surgery in Perth, WA before completing Fellowships in hand and brachial plexus surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. Alex works at Western Orthopaedic Clinic, St John of God Hospital, specialising in upper limb surgery, with a special interest in peripheral nerve surgery. Rohan Page graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1993 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He trained at Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital – including five years of specialist training in Adult and Paediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, obtaining Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2003. Rohan worked in London and California before returning to work in private practice at the Western Australian Plastic Surgery Centre. He is Consultant Plastic Surgeon at St John of God, Hollywood, Bethesda and The Mount Hospitals as well as holding a Plastic Surgery Consultant position at Sir Charles Gairdner and Princess Margaret Hospital. He is an Associate Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery at the University of WA and is regularly involved in undergraduate and postgraduate surgical training, as well as participating in charity surgical missions to developing countries. Jon Spencer is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who graduated from Oxford University in 1993. He specialised in shoulder and upper Limb trauma and became a fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2008. He moved to Australia in 2005 where he works in the Hollywood Orthopaedic Group as well as being a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Helke Thorpe is a medical professional at TLC Unlimbited and is involved with the prescription, design, fitting and training of patient’s requiring prosthetic limbs or components post trauma or as a result of congenital deformity. Wilma Walsh is one of the five founding members of the AHTA and past AHTA president. She has practised as a Hand Therapist for 30 years, has lectured/presented widely both nationally and internationally and was the keynote speaker at the Philadelphia Hand Meeting in 2010. She is a board member of the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and is the owner/director of Extend Rehabilitation in Brisbane. Judith Wilton is an experienced Western Australian Occupational Therapist with a passion for hand and upper limb therapy and splinting in the presence of neurological disorder. She is owner/ director of Judith Wilton Hand Rehabilitation Specialists, and has been a consultant specialist at the Centre for Cerebral Palsy in Western Australia. Judith is an AHTA WA State Mentor, has developed and delivered several AHTA splinting workshops, and was chair of the 1998 and 2004 AHTA National Conferences in Perth. Judith has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the Hand and Upper Limb specialty at Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. She is the author of 'Hand Splinting, Principles of Design and Fabrication', which is currently being edited in a 2nd Edition, and has published numerous journal articles. |
