The 2005 Conference Committee extends a warm invitation to all delegates to attend the AHTA National Conference themed ‘Hands On Trauma’ being held at Coogee Beach, Sydney, in October 2005.

The exciting conference programme includes a range of skilled medical and paramedical professionals sharing the latest in their fields of expertise related to hand trauma. As well, there will be interesting free papers and poster presentations from our own colleagues.

The Conference format will be a great mix of eclectic educational experiences, wonderful social activities and opportunities to visit a range of sponsors who will be displaying the latest in hand therapy products.

The conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 242 Arden Street, Coogee. It is superbly located in Coogee, directly opposite the beach with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.

Coogee Beach is one of Sydney’s most impressive beaches and headlands and is only a short drive to the city. It has a vibrant atmosphere and yet has retained its ‘seaside village’ flavour.

Take in the famous coastal walk, with magnificent views from Coogee to Bondi Beach. Snorkel or follow the diving trail through the majestic underwater paradise of Gordon’s Bay. Soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the Coogee cafe scene or do a little shopping at Bondi Junction.

domestic travel

Coogee is located 20 minutes by taxi from Sydney airport. Public transport and a variety of private shuttle buses to the various hotels is also available.

Corporate Travel Management (CTM) has been appointed the official travel agency for the conference. CTM offers the ‘best available Internet or special fares’ available on Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Blue. Early booking is advised.

CTM will advise you of the the best fare availability and conditions of purchase at the time of making your booking. Insurance is recommended for those travelling with discounted fares.

accommodation

Accommodation at special rates has been reserved at the conference venue, the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Coogee Beach, Sydney, from Thursday 20 to Monday 24 October 2005. The conference rates can only be obtained by booking through Promaco Conventions. For rooms required before or after the conference dates, early booking is essential.

• All bookings require a deposit of one night’s tariff. The deposit is non-refundable and may be forfeited at the hotel’s discretion, if you cancel within 21 days of the date required or, if you do not arrive on the date you have nominated.

• Amendments must be made in writing to Promaco Conventions in advance. Changes made after Friday 30 September 2005 cannot be guaranteed and will be subject to availability.

• Accommodation bookings will not be accepted by Promaco Conventions after Friday 30 September 2005. All rooms not allocated by this date will be released back to the hotel.
