Widely believed to be the most beautiful city in Australia, Perth is located on Australia’s Sunset Coast on the banks of the Swan River, between the Archaean hinterland of the Yilgarn Craton and the Indian Ocean. In its architecture and layout, Perth reflects its early history of European settlement, yet its cosmopolitan atmosphere owes much to recent decades of multiculturalism. With a current population approaching 2 million, it is Australia’s most rapidly growing city, hosting the same range of facilities found in Sydney or Melbourne, but preserving a relaxed ‘outdoor’ lifestyle, where tourists and locals alike can enjoy its mediterranean climate, broad sweeping beaches, numerous sporting events and proximity to vineyards and wildflowers in the hills to the east of the city.

We hope you find these links useful in planning your trip to Perth.

International Access

Perth is serviced by a range of major airlines, with a choice of routes for international travellers. It has direct international flights to New Zealand and several capitals in Asia and is the only Australian capital city with direct links to Africa. Other international flights are routed to Perth via Sydney, or to Europe and North America via Asia. Domestic carriers are active within Western Australia and provide airlinks to regional centres and other State capital cities. Perth International Airport is about 20 minutes drive from the centre of Perth and is serviced by taxis and a shuttle bus service, which also services the nearby domestic terminal (located about 15 minutes drive on the opposite side of the airport complex from the international terminal.

Corporate Travel Management (CTM) has been appointed the official travel agency for the symposium. CTM offers special flexible/changeable symposium airfares at up to 40% discount for Australian domestic economy class fares on Qantas services or the best Internet or published Australian domestic airfares available on Qantas and Virgin Blue Airlines.

To ensure the BEST possible airfare available, ALL delegates are urged to contact CTM (http://www.travelctm.com&cc=IGES2005)
on TOLLFREE: 1800 630 866 or Email: groups@travelctm.com and quote the Conference Profile IGES05 when making their travel booking.

Conference Fares: Qantas is proud to offer its support to the Conference with a special discount of up to 40% off the FULL economy fare (excluding taxes). The conference fare is flexible and fully refundable with no cancellation fee up until 72 hours prior to departure.

Discount Fares: Delegates may prefer to take advantage of the best Internet or published airfares. Promotional fares are often more affordable than the conference fare. However, they do have conditions attached. Most are non-refundable if cancelled. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

VISAS
Anyone who is not an Australian citizen requires a valid Visa/Electronic Travel Authority to enter and spend time in Australia.  With the exception of New Zealand citizens travelling on New Zealand passports, all foreign nationals must obtain a Visa/ETA before travelling to Australia.  (New Zealand citizens are issued with a Visa upon arrival).

Visas are available from Australian Visa Offices such as Australian Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates.  For the location of your nearest Australian Consultate, go to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's website at www.dfat.gov.au/missions/

Visas are also available in ETA form from travel agents and airlines in certain countries.  There are no visas or border checks required when moving between Australian states.  www.immi.gov.au

The exhibition is a very important feature of the IGES Symposium meeting and we value the support from our exhibitors. As an exhibitor, you will have the opportunity to raise your company profile and gain maximum exposure by promoting your products and services to a highly qualified and influential international audience.

If you are associated with the many areas linked with geochemistry, whether as a product manufacturer or supplier, services or technology supplier or information service provider, then this event is for you.

The meeting traditionally attracts about 300-400 attendees and maximum exposure to delegates and speakers will be assured.

Click Here to download a layout of the exhibition and a booking form. See below for costs and inclusions.

Symposium Program
Each trade display will be entitled to register one delegate to the Symposium @ 50% of the full-time registration fee. The delegate pass may be shared by staff of the display. Allowing your staff access to the program sessions will enable valuable insight into the wide range of issues relating to the Geochemical Industry.

Morning and afternoon teas will be served in the Trade Exhibition area so that exhibitors get full exposure of their technical displays.
