Location and Venue
The Conference will be held in delightful surroundings at the Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, which is nestled in tuart bushland.
Bunbury is a cosmopolitan city positioned on a peninsula surrounded by the waters of the Indian Ocean, Koombana Bay and the Leschenault Inlet. With the second largest population in Western Australia, the city offers great wining and dining in award-winning restaurants, historic pubs, a colourful cappuccino strip and a vibrant night life.
Bunbury is renowned for its Dolphin Discovery Centre and the wild dolphins that interact with people in Koombana Bay, a highlight for all who experience it. The Leschenault Inlet is a prime spot for canoeing and swimming and visitors can also enjoy the mangrove boardwalk, home to many species of birdlife.
Bunbury offers a range of wonderful accommodation from five star resorts to self-contained chalets, camping and backpacking facilities.

Bunbury is about 200kms south of Perth and there are several ways of getting there.

SIG's The SIG meetings will commence from 3.30pm on Tuesday 3 October. SIG delegates can utilise the airport transfer at 12.15pm or the Australind train service which departs Perth on Tuesday 3 October at 9.30am, arriving in Bunbury at 11.55am. SIG delegates should also network via email to determine shared transport options to Bunbury. |
PERTH TO BUNBURY
A charter coach service will be
provided to transfer delegates from Perth Domestic Airport to Bunbury on Tuesday
3 October at 12.15pm. Travel time is approximately 3 hours and cost is $33 inc
GST per person. Prior bookings with Promaco Conventions will be essential and a
minimum number of bookings will apply to proceed. Delegates using this
service must arrange their flight schedules to suit the coach departure time.
As the flight schedules will vary from different cities, a short wait for some
delegates may be necessary. Delegates arriving earlier than Tuesday 3 October
will need to make their own transfer arrangements to Bunbury, or plan to join
the transfer departing from the Domestic Airport. Coach transfer booking
details will be available with the registration booklet.
Other options include: Regular express coach service departing from the Perth City Busport, taxi service or self-drive by hire car, via an excellent road system or via the Indian Pacific and Australind Trains. Hire cars and taxis can be arranged at the airport upon arrival.

This timetable will connect with the Australind Train to Bunbury which departs on Tuesday 3 October at 9.30am, arriving in Bunbury at 11.55am.

AND BACK TO PERTH
A charter coach service will be provided to transfer delegates from Bunbury back
to the Domestic Airport on Friday 6 October at the close of the conference
sessions.
If sufficient interest is advised, a transfer may also operate on Saturday 7 October at 10.30am. Travel time is approximately 3 hours and cost is $33 inc GST per person. Prior bookings with Promaco Conventions are essential and a minimum number will apply for the coach service(s) to proceed.
The transfer on Friday will depart from Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School at 3.45pm, returning to the Domestic Airport. If the transfer on Saturday proceeds, a departure point will be advised.
October is a very popular period in the south-west. Early booking is recommended as delegates may have to look for alternative options should the suggested properties become fully booked.
Accommodation at special rates has been reserved from Tuesday 3 October to Saturday 7 October 2006 at selected properties (see list below). For rooms required before or after the conference dates, early booking is essential. Breakfast is not included in the rates unless stated.
• Each booking requires a deposit of one night’s tariff. The deposit is non-refundable and may be forfeited at the hotel’s discretion, if you cancel within 21 days of the date required or, if you do not arrive on the advised date.
• Amendments must be made in writing to Promaco Conventions in advance. Changes made after Friday 8 September 2006 cannot be guaranteed and will be subject to availability.
• Accommodation bookings will not be accepted after Friday 8 September 2006 as all rooms not allocated by this date will be released.
