BETTINA ARNDT
It was sex that made Bettina Arndt famous. Having trained as a clinical psychologist, in the early 1970’s she became one of Australia’s first sex therapists. She gave up sex - professionally speaking – and moved onto writing and talking about broader social issues and particularly the rapidly changing relationships between men and women. Her expertise on wide range of social issues has also lead to appointments on various government advisory committees, dealing with family law, child support, childcare, and ageing.

PROFESSOR KONRAD JAMROZIK
In addition to a three month long attachment to the World Health Organization in Geneva in 1999, Dr Jamrozik has held short-term posts at Harvard Medical School, at the Clinical Trial Service Unit in Oxford, at the Data Centre for the WHO MONICA Project at the National Public Health Institute in Finland and at the School of Public Health at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. Dr Jamrozik has been awarded Life Membership of the Australian Council on Smoking and Health, the Inaugural President’s Award from the National Heart Foundation of Australia and a special Research Assistance grant for Outstanding Teachers from the University of Western Australia.

IAN LILLICO
Ian has done action research in gender throughout Australia and New Zealand from 1992, as well as in the UK, USA and Europe during his Churchill Fellowship in 2000. Ian is widely known for his expertise in the area of boys’ education and is a publicist, recognised speaker and advocate in the area of boys’ education throughout Australia. He was awarded the Churchill Fellowship for the year 2000 to further research boys’ education in Europe, the United Kingdom and North America. He is recognised as a leader in the field of boys’ education worldwide.

GREG MITCHELL
Greg’s aim is to improve the culture of organizations, whether they be a pre-primary class or a corporate boardroom. Based in Perth WA, Greg works throughout Australia and in more recent times internationally, with schools, training authorities, government agencies and businesses.

 

KIEREN PERKINS, OAM
Kieren Perkins is one of the greatest swimmers in history! He has broken 12 world records and is the first person in history to hold the Olympic, World, Commonwealth and Pan Pacific titles simultaneously. He has broken over 40 Australian records and is without doubt one of the greatest Australian Athletes of all time. Kieren Perkins is an Australian icon. Today, Kieren brings his courageous spirit to the corporate world. Appointed to the board of the Australian Sports Commission, Kieren vows to help pave the way for future Olympians and encourage more children to participate in sport.

DR MICHAEL NAGEL
Michael is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of the Sunshine Coast.  He is Australia’s only Master Trainer with the U.S. based Gurian Institute specialising in neurological development in boys and girls. He has presented papers, workshops and seminars nationally and internationally and is expecting to release a new book in 2006 entitled ‘Boys-Stir-Us’: Working with the Hidden Nature of Boys.  Dr Nagel draws much of his insights and ideas from over two decades of working with children on three continents, contemporary neurological research and from watching his two children, Madeline and Harrison, grow up.

DR SHAUN RIDLEY
Shaun Ridley is an international management consultant and trainer who has over 20 years experience helping organisations develop their strategic direction, manage change and develop the potential of their people. His current role as Deputy Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Management in Western Australia has given him unrivalled access to hundreds of organisations. Shaun’s particular areas of expertise include leadership, strategic planning and decision making, negotiation skills, customer service and human resource management.

DR ARNE RUBENSTEIN
Dr RUBINSTEIN
worked as a General Practitioner from 1992 to 2002 specialising in Adolescent Health and Preventative Medicine. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of the Pathways Foundation, a Not For Profit organisation that runs the National Award Winning Pathways to Manhood program in schools and communities around Australia. This program for teenage boys and their fathers is a contemporary Rite of Passage that aims to inspire the boys to have a vision and reach their potential.  Dr Rubinstein has studied global Rites of Passage and has been a guest speaker at seminars and conferences around Australia.

DR NORMAN SWAN
Producer and presenter of the Health Report, Dr Norman Swan, is a multi-award winning producer and broadcaster. One of the first medically qualified journalists in Australia, Dr Swan is highly regarded by the medical and health professions. He was named Australian Radio Producer of the year in 1984 and was awarded a Gold Citation in the United National Media Peace Prizes for his radio work. On television, Dr Swan has hosted ABC Television’s science program, Quantum, and been a guest reporter on the ABC Television current affairs program, Four Corners.
