EPSM 2013 invites the submission of abstracts on original work for consideration for the Conference Program.
Presentations at the EPSM 2013 Conference can be either:

  1. an Oral Paper
  2. a Poster

Abstracts are invited on original research in the following research areas or streams:

  1. Radiation Oncology Physics   
  2. Radiation Biology
  3. Nuclear Medicine       
  4. Radiology Physics      
  5. Radiation Protection  
  6. Biomedical Engineering and Research
  7. Clinical Engineering
  8. Education
  9. Health Physics
  10. Preclinical Imaging
  11. Biophysics
  12. Other

 

General Policies and Requirements
  1. All abstracts submitted for presentation at the EPSM Conference must contain original research that has not been previously presented or scheduled for presentation, published or accepted for publication, and if under review, must not appear in print before the Conference.
  2. All abstracts must be submitted online using the conference website www.epsm.org.au
  3. Please refer to the style guide for formatting and layout of document
  4. The abstract should provide sufficient detail to accurately represent the intended presentation.
  5. Completing the theme and type sections on the submission is required and will assist the committee in allocating the presentation if accepted
  6. At least one author for each abstract that is accepted for presentation in the Conference Program is expected to register and pay to attend the Conference to present their research. All of the costs to attend the Conference, including the registration fee, must be paid by presenters. EPSM does not pay honoraria for any presentations.
  7. Oral presentations will be 10 minutes, plus 3 minutes for discussion.
  8. During the conference, a climate of free exchange and constructive criticism is encouraged. It is also important to demonstrate respect for colleagues/presenters with different perspectives and methodologies or methods.
  9. For poster presentations, it is expected that one of the presenting authors be present at their poster during the allocated poster session to discuss their research with fellow delegates.  That author should be able to answer questions related to the poster.
  10. The organising committee has the right to refuse or accept any submission as well as allocating the presentation type even if this differs from that applied for.

 

Note to Authors

Each presenting author will be required to register and pay for the Conference by the author registration deadline to ensure their abstract(s) are included in the final program. Authors who do not register by the deadline will be removed from the Conference Program. All costs to attend the Conference, including the registration fee, must be met by presenters.
Only the main author will be contacted by email regarding acceptance or otherwise of the submitted abstract.
All Conference Abstracts accepted for the EPSM Conference Program are made available to delegates in the conference program.
Please note that the copyright of the conference proceedings belongs to EPSM, but the copyright of the individual abstracts belongs to the authors.

 

Abstract & Poster Review Process

Abstracts submitted for presentation at the Conference will be reviewed and authors will be advised of their acceptance and presentation type by 1st September 2013.
The review criteria include:

  1. Significance/importance of the topic
  2. Aims and objectives
  3. Quality of analysis/coherence of argument
  4. Relevance of findings for theory/policy/practice
  5. Clarity/readability
  6. Overall evaluation (including contribution)

 

Audio Visual Information

Please note that for all oral presentations the following equipment will be available in each session room for use by speakers - data projection (Microsoft PowerPoint), laptop (Windows compatible), lectern and microphone.

For those selected to present their paper in poster format, it is expected that one of the presenting authors be present at their poster during the scheduled poster session to discuss their research with fellow delegates. More information on the required format of posters will be provided to the submitting author should the abstract be accepted for a poster presentation.
