Department of Planning
The Department of Planning is the Government's principal advisor providing expertise in land use planning to the Minister for Planning and the Western Australian Planning Commission.
The Department undertakes a range of activities to support the implementation of State Planning Policy 2.6 State Coastal Planning Policy, which provides for the long term sustainability of Western Australia’s coast..
West Australia's 7 regional Natural Resource Management organisations work together across the WA landscape. NRM WA is guided by their seven Regional Strategies with the overall vision of building sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, coastal and catchment management, and indigenous NRM.
State Natural Resource Management (NRM) Program
The State NRM Program is an initiative of the Western Australian Government which recognises the efforts of community-based, not-for-profit NRM groups by supporting them to achieve on-ground outcomes that benefit the environment and all Western Australians. Over 700 projects have been supported with over $74 million of grants since 2009.
Western Australian Local Government Association
WALGA’s key focus is working for local government in Western Australia, and advocates on behalf of 138 WA local governments and negotiates service agreements for the sector.
WA Planning Commission
The Western Australian Planning Commission responds to the strategic direction of government on urban, rural and regional land-use planning and land development matters throughout Western Australia.
