The Chittering Shire, which lies almost due north of Perth (approximately 50 - 60
km), includes Muchea, Lower Chittering Valley, Wannamal and Bindoon and presents
some of the finest scenery the state has to offer.
Amongst the fertile valleys of the Darling Ranges, visitors can view vineyards,
orange groves, race horse studs and sheep and cattle properties.
This was one of the earliest settled areas on the state with George Fletcher Moore
selecting the first property in the valley in 1841.
